The Home Share program offers a practical housing alternative for compatible people who choose to share a residence based on common needs, interests, and preferences.

For Home-Owners:

• Extra income
• Security
• Possible assistance with homemaking and chores

For Housing Seekers:

• Reasonable rent
• Homelike environment
• Flexible arrangements

Agency on Aging Home Share Eligibility:

• One participant in match must be age 18 or over.
• One participant in match must be age 60 or over.
• Available houses located in South Central Connecticut

Process:

• Applicants will be interviewed.
• References will be checked.
• Potential home sharers will be referred.
• Final decision is made by sharer.
• A home share agreement is drawn up and signed.

The Home Share program is funded through the Connecticut Department of Social Services, Aging Services Division
